Parkour & Climbing Coach Development Program (2019)

Program Description:

A program designed to help youth to acquire the professional skills and coaching experience needed for working within the parkour and/or climbing industries, while also building valuable professional skills for future employment and education opportunities. Our mission is to help foster and develop the next generation of movers and influencers by creating safe, positive, and impactful summer learning opportunities for a variety motivated participants from all backgrounds.

As the program continues to grow and expand, participants will be able to continue growing and learning with the PKGB and BKBS, with the eventual goal of fun, flexible, and rewarding employment opportunities.

CIT PROGRAM OVERVIEW


JUNIOR COACH (Ages 14 - 16)

Pre-Requirements: One year of CIT program and/or attended an ADAPT Level 1 (has not completed certification)

Roles & Expectations:

- Group Management

- Basic Spotting & Belaying

- Basic Technical Instruction

- Session Planning

- Mealtime Supervision

Goals:

- Build professional skills

- Identify areas for improvement

- Gain work experience

- Improve leadership & mentoring skills

- Prepare for ADAPT Level 1 Course

Benefits:

Pricing:

Training Week: $600*

Assisting Weeks: $300* (minimum of 2 weeks)

MOVEMENT HELPER (Ages 12 - 14)

Pre-Requirements: No coaching experience, prior experience in parkour/climbing (recommended)

Roles & Expectations:

- Group Management

- Basic Spotting & Belaying

- General help

Goals:

- Build professional skills

- Work with and manage groups of youth

- Team building & group challenges

Assisting Weeks: $400* (minimum of 1 week)

- Co-leading sessions


- Assisting experienced coaches

Goals:

- Finalize training requirements to be able to seek employment with PKGB/BKBS

- Gain work experience

- Build Resume activities
