Equipment for Home Training
We know that parkour is best done outside in “the wild” but sometimes that’s not possible. Here are a few of our suggestions for way to make your home into a more functional jungle gym!
Pull-up Bar
Arguably the most useful item to add to your home to help build upper body and core strength. Put it in a high-traffic doorway to make it easy to create a “kitchen tax” or “bathroom tax” and make it part of your daily routine!
Headphones
For when that old-school speaker system isn’t portable enough, or when you want to be able to just focus on the movement + music. Great for work and play, these headphones are durable and actually stay in your ears when inverted (or in motion)! Tried and tested by a number of our team!
Parallettes
Easy to use and a great way to make pushing exercises more interesting. Relieve pressure on your wrists while doing pushups, work on L-sits, etc…
Resistance Bands
Make some exercises easier (pull-ups) and others harder (squats, push-ups, jumping…). Easy to throw into a backpack and bring with you anywhere!
Jump Rope
We realize that not everyone learned this skill as a child, but it’s a great way to build endurance, agility, and rhythm. Try a speed rope to get the hang of it and then graduate to a specialized or weighted version!
Kettle Bell
Need to add a bit of weight to your exercises. You could fill a bucket with water, sand, rocks, or a small animal… or you could just get one of these. We recommend starting with a lighter weight and then moving up as you get stronger!
Gymnastic Rings
These are a super handy way to enhance any backyard setup, tree in the park, porch setup, or pull-up bar that you just got from above.
Fat Gripz
Looking to make pull-ups and chin-ups harder? These grips just attach to your bar and make it (significantly) harder to grip, and help to build forearm strength and
Foam Roller
Useful tool for aiding recovery. Use it while hanging out or even while watching TV.
The Fit Brick
Sturdy, versatile, just the right weight, and timelessly classic. It hasn’t gone out of style for the last few thousand years, so we think it’s a great investment to any home workout space.
