Jump Mechanics Guest Workshop with Cordelia Storm (Parkour Visions, Seattle)
Ages: 14 - 70+
Learn the foundations of healthy, strong jumps. Got an aching knee pain that flares up every so often? Want to increase your jump distance but not sure where to start? This workshop will go over the basic physiology of jumping, and then apply it to practical parkour movements. Learning some simple physiology will set you up with a strong starting point on how to increase basic strength and also get the mobility needed to avoid many kinds of low back, knee, and ankle pains.
You will learn:
-Basic physiology behind the body mechanics of Parkour
-Simple ways to program your own strength training with jumping goals
-Techniques for increasing strength and mobility while training outdoors
Led by Cordelia Storm from Seattle's Parkour Visions; Parkour and mobility coach, Crossfit Mobility and Movement Certification, Apex Movement Parkour lvl 1 Certification, Ninja Warrior Competitor, Wilderness First Responder. Cordelia has been training parkour for 9 years now, and had no athletic background prior to parkour (she was a nerdy kid who hated sports!), so she has spent a huge amount of her time researching and discovering methods to build mental strength and physical power needed to achieve goals. She is passionate about sharing these techniques, but most passionate about people experiencing self-actualization through discovering worthy goals and achieving them!
